Zerax's Scar (part 1)

Exiled and wounded, the dragon still searches for his sister, who's been taken by the corrupt king of the ice dragons. His powers of transformation have been taken away indefinitely...

It could be hard to save her, when he too, needs saving.

Well...there's 4 days of my life for you. So tired....  
Though actually each page took me less and less time with each one I did. I might be able to handle being a mangaka after all.

You may notice that the style changed up a bit as it goes on. That's probably because with each page I was figuring out my life/how exactly I wanted to go about coloring my characters. I think I've figured out that I prefer just inking them with a small pen brush, then just using the watercolor setting to color. 

I actually changed the speech bubbles just before posting this. I decided it didn't look very good to use the premade ones Manga Studio offers, and I discovered the amazingness that the balloon pen is. 

So yeah, how to ink the characters, how to shade and color, plus speech bubbles were mainly what sucked up my time. Surprisingly, adding in effects and painting the backgrounds really took me no time at all. It's funny because backgrounds are what I used to fear the most. Amazing how having a basic knowledge in oil painting (from MILLIONS of youtube tutorials I watched to make a painting for my mommy, oil painting sucks ass by the way O__O) can really make the difference in how one looks at backgrounds. Well, nature scenes anyway. Buildings and architecture are still my downfall XD Though luckily Dragonia is mostly nature!

I think this may be part of the prologue leading into the story...for now it's just me experimenting with my abilities to make a comic. So far it's a giant improvement compared to the shit I made before.

I'd link the samples I did before this...but it's so horrifically done that I'm too embarrassed XD
